Our pets, our number one fans! Often days go by fast and we get busy prepping for the holidays with family and friends, cooking and being merry it can be easy to overlook the little things with our fur babies. We wake up in the morning jumping out of bed and letting our pups out for their morning business and not realizing how cold it could be for them. The last thing we want is for them to catch a cold. A shock of cold could lower their immune system and cause dog flu or upper respiratory infection. Here are some tips to keep our loved ones happy and healthy this winter!
Keep them Warm on cold nights and days
In the winter those nights and days can become brutally cold and can hurt your pet if they are not well taken care of. Don’t forget them outside for too long of a period of time! Sometimes life can go buy quickly and so can the time when having family over or decorating for the holidays. Shorter time outside for your pet could save their life! Consider putting booties on their paws so their paws don’t get too cold.
Feeding your pets could change
Depending on your pets activity that could mean changing how much your pet eats. If they are not getting the same amount of exercise then they may be eating too much! Make sure to make the appropriate adjustments to keep your pet healthy and happy. Ask your veterinarian if you’re unsure how much to feed you pet.
